The road narrows to desert
Khavda is the checkpoint town almost every White Rann trip passes through — the last real market before the road opens onto salt. Most visitors stop here without realising it is a destination in its own right.

Black-and-white pottery
Khavda's Kumbhar potter families produce a distinctive unglazed pottery, hand-painted in geometric black-and-white and rust motifs. Several household workshops welcome visitors to watch the wheel and the painting.

Practical stop
Fuel up, buy water and grab a plate of Kutchi dabeli here — it's the last proper stop before the Rann checkpoint and the salt flats beyond.
